Welcome and thank you for visiting my Architecture Portfolio. The work displayed here is a sampling of projects representing my professional experience over the past 13 years. I have a deep passion for the profession, that when coupled with my dedication and experience, has led me to complete successful projects across multiple market sectors and building typologies. I have a wide breadth of experience in design work, project team management, client interaction, and construction administration. I also have excellent technical and computer skills with advanced knowledge of graphics programs. Given these valuable skills, I am often sought out to design and manage complicated computer modeling for projects utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology. With such expertise, I often undertake projects that range in scale and complexity. I can work effectively in both an independent role, as well as part of a team, allowing for flexible project involvement. I am able to easily adapt to change throughout the life of a project, while one thing remains the same, my devotion to enhancing people's lives by thoughtful and creative design.
Building Science: One of my fundamental interests within field of Architecture focuses on building science. It is my belief that meaningful design should stem from a thorough understanding of the many complexities associated with building materials and their integration into designed assemblies. Understanding how buildings of today function, as well as learning about new innovations and cutting-edge approaches toward traditional design problems, have always been major interests of mine. I am continually mindful of the importance that building science plays when addressing common issues related to moisture control, fire resistance, thermal comfort, durability, and environmental impacts. This understanding of building science and its role in the built environment, creates a solid groundwork onto which I am able to effectively translate conceptual designs into functional realities.
Sustainability: As a LEED accredited professional with a Building + Design specialty, I strive to bring sustainable design approaches to every project I am involved with, regardless of whether or not LEED certification is pursued. I believe integrating such concepts and practices into the architectural process is a key component to successful projects. A few examples of these concepts include reducing energy and water consumption, limiting pre-and-post construction waste, avoiding harmful toxins, and providing access to natural light. I feel strongly that striving for sustainable design should not be a special or unique consideration on a singular project, but rather a core goal in every project pursued. I promote that we are all inhabitants of the same planet and it is our responsibility as designers, to be mindful of the immediate and long-term effects we have on our local and global environment.
